Terms of Service

By accessing or using Veggie Exchange (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Veggie Exchange. If you live in a country where the minimum digital-consent age is higher, you must meet that age. By using the Service, you represent that you do.

You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect someone else is using your account.

You agree not to:

• Spam, harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Post content that is obscene, hateful, or violates someone else’s rights.
• Use the Service for any commercial resale activity. Veggie Exchange is a hobby community, not a marketplace.
• Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or attack the Service.
• Upload malware or illegal content.

We use automated filtering to block obvious obscenity in handles, names, and posts. We may remove content or accounts that violate these Terms at our discretion.

You keep ownership of the photos, posts, comments, and other content you create on Veggie Exchange. By posting, you grant Veggie Exchange a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your post in the community feed and on your profile).

You can delete your content at any time. After deletion, copies may persist briefly in backups before being purged.

Veggie Exchange is run as a hobby project, by hobby gardeners, for hobby gardeners. We don’t process payments between users and we aren’t a party to any seedling exchange. Any pickup, contribution, or trade is directly between the people involved.

The Service uses third-party providers for hosting, authentication, and email delivery (such as Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Apple, and Google). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies.

Veggie Exchange is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any plant you receive or share will meet your expectations.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Veggie Exchange and the people who run it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; the “Last updated” date at the top tells you when. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
